UN Tourism has published a fresh barometer: Uzbekistan has jumped into the top five countries with the fastest growth in the number of foreign visitors. In January–March 2026, the flow of visitors increased by 37% compared to the same period last year.
For reference: on average, international tourism has added only 2% worldwide (307 million trips). The Republic of Uzbekistan has already received more than 5.3 million tourists in the first five months of 2026.
What's the secret? Visa-free regime, affordable prices, security, convenient logistics and aggressive marketing abroad. In addition to traditional Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, there is an interest in eco-tourism and gastrotourism. In conclusion: the country is no longer just a regional destination and is confidently entering the global market. UN Tourism has officially confirmed this.
